I Am A Boat Broker's Nightmare

I've been sailboat shopping on and off for four years, and in a dedicated fashion for the past 14 months. Here's what I've been aboard so far:

Allied Seawind II 32
Atkins 28
Bristol 29.9
Cape Dory 27
Cape Dory 30 (two cutters, one ketch)
Cape Dory 31 (four of them!)
Fuji 32
Luders 33
Pacific Seacraft Dana 24
Pacific Seacraft 25
Pacific Seacraft Orion 27
Pearson Triton
Sabre 30
Sea Sprite 34
Shannon 28
Southern Cross 31 (two)
Spencer 35
Voyager 26
Westsail 28 (two)
Westsail 32

Weren't ANY of these boats good enough? Well, I almost bought two of them. But they got away.

Nice post. Also, a very nice looking fleet upon which to muse lackadaisically. Or not so lackadaisically.

There are more boats in your list than some marinas... The trick is to get a boat that can be perfect for you, but isn't to start with... If you're looking for the perfect boat to buy, you'll never find it.

friends of mine have a triton and they love it (and him almost too much).

broaden your horizons. think bigger. what about a 56 morgan? (i found this one below, which is only 33, but it's in texas. bonus: road trip!) http://shipandsail.com/1974_33_morgan_out_island.html

Maybe you don't really want a boat. Maybe you just like shopping for boats.

That'll be whatever your hourly rate is—or a ride in your boat!
